With India hosting almost 75 per cent of the world's wild tigers, the country is preparing for the 2026 Tiger Estimation, the world's largest wildlife survey with results expected in 2027.
This process will be carried out in all the 38 forest division patrols in each zone of the state's forest areas, for which training was given to the frontline personnel of all the 13 forest circles of the state and 5 tiger reserves separately in October-December last year.
The survey, which began today, aims to collect crucial data on wildlife presence and behavior ahead of the official enumeration exercise scheduled for June.
New Delhi [India], July 11 (ANI): India's 2018 tiger census has entered the Guinness world records for being the largest ever camera trap wildlife survey.
