Scindia said, "Whatever the governments have done in the past 68 years, the Modi government has done it in nine years. The number has reached from 74 to 148. We aim to make in 200-220 in the next five years including heliports and water aerodromes".
While speaking exclusively to ANI, Jyotiraditya Scindia said, " In the past 65 years, we had 74 airports in India. In the last 9 years, we have built additional 74 airports, heliports, and water aerodromes. We will double it to 148 and we will take this number to over 200 in the next 4 years
A total of 73 unserved or underserved airports, including nine heliports and two water aerodromes, have been operationalised till January 2023 under the Centre's flagship Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme.
