The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024, and the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, will meet on March 9, at the Parliament House Annexe (PHA) in New Delhi.
This comes after 31 Congress MLAs wrote a letter addressed to the party's top leadership, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and his deputy DK Shivakumar, requesting that the first-time MLAs be inducted into the cabinet.

Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily launched a veiled attack on the central government over the Delhi Red Fort blast case that claimed eight lives and left several others injured a day ago, and said that persons handling security of the country should be held accountable for it.
"The CWC meeting is happening after years in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and others have worked diligently to bring about change. Bihar needs change. It is very clear," Khurshid told reporters.
"India was looked up to by every nation, and whenever a problem arose anywhere in the world, Nehru used to take the lead. That is how Nehru was respected. Now, nobody respects our Prime Minister. It's most unfortunate. Our foreign policy failed on every front," Moily told ANI.
"It is the most unfortunate and tragic event. It has shaken the faith and confidence of the people. We will learn further information after the evidence, such as the black boxes, is probed. An inquiry will be conducted, and proper action will be taken," Moily told ANI.

Earlier, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has termed the reports suggesting that he is getting close to the BJP "false propaganda," emphasising that he was a born Congressman.
