Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami provided an update on the recent flash flood and mudslide disaster in Uttarkashi district. He said that more than 1,000 people, including devotees and pilgrims from across the country who were stranded, have been safely rescued.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has pledged his one month's salary to support ongoing disaster relief efforts in flood-hit areas of the state. Rescue operations led by the NDRF are underway in Uttarkashi's Dharali and Harshil, with over 270 people rescued so far.
30 people were rescued from Jagpura and were sent to a shelter in Banbasa. Other rescue operations took place in Ward 9, Tanakpur and another area in Jagpura
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), "In the meeting with the Union Ministers, the Chief Minister will request central assistance for the state. He will also discuss the damages brought on by heavy rainfall in the state."
