After a woman was allegedly arrested for involvement in the desecration of the Holy Quran, an angry mob stormed the police station in Karachi in order to attack the woman held in the case.
According to the police, the matter came to light when the 5-year-old complained of chest pain to her parents, following which they registered a complaint at the Moghat police station.
The court passed this order after the Investigation Officer (IO) failed to obtain a certificate of section 65B of Indian Evidence Act related to photographs of an incident of riots in the police station Khajuri Khas area.
The police also informed that the officials recovered cash amounting to Rs 4,68,200 from the accused. A total of 17 mobile phones were also seized by police.
"10,000 policemen will be deployed for security during Muthuramalingam Thevar Jayanthi. The police will be on duty from October 27 to 30. Prohibited areas and permitted routes are notified by the respective police stations," Inspector General (South zone), Asra Garg told ANI.
Four people were injured in the Keshav Puram Police Station area after the accused confronted a few people bursting crackers in his locality, added the police.
