Partha Protim Das, Senior Superintendent of Police of Cachar district, said that, based on intelligence inputs, Cachar police conducted an anti-narcotics operation in the Rongpur area under Silchar police station on Monday.
In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, the Assam Police seized 3 lakh Yaba tablets worth 90 crore from a secret chamber of a vehicle in Assam's Cachar district and arrested two people hailing from Manipur, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sribhumi Partha Protim Das stated that information had been received regarding a vehicle carrying the substances, after which the police conducted a thorough search and recovered the substances in the secret chamber inside the vehicle's fuel tank.
Cybercrime, Economic offences, Narcotics (CEN) wing of Police successfully located the accused on Thursday at his house in a secret chamber and took him into custody, according to a release.
