Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticised the BJP as incumbent Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections 2026, saying he wanted the JD(U) chief to retire as the Prime Minister.

Speaking with ANI, RP Singh said, "When Akhilesh Yadav raises questions about SIR, he wants to say that support for his party has ended. If his party still has support, then his BLAs should fill in forms 6 and 7 for those who have been cut."
Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Yadav questioned the Election Commission's credibility, claiming that nearly three lakh voters had already been removed from a single district, with more deletions likely.
He alleged that the racket was far bigger than projected and it originated from the Prime Minister's constituency. He called for a bulldozer-style action against all "mafias", even if they belong to the Samajwadi Party.
