Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather said on Monday that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed the law and order machinery to remain alert and take immediate action to prevent terror incidents in the region.
The discussion on the deteriorating law and order situation was initiated by Arbab Usman Khan, an opposition MPA from the Awami National Party, who claimed that there had been a significant surge in terrorism-related incidents in the tribal districts.
Five people were killed and 10 others were injured in multiple blasts in Pakistan's Balochistan province, The News International newspaper reported on Sunday.
The Pakistani newspaper said routine life has come to a standstill and businesses are affected due to market closure as people prefer to stay at home before dusk in the three districts of the Bannu division.
