Strong foundations for high growth can be secured only with durable price stability, the monetary policy committee of Reserve Bank of India emphasized before keeping the policy rate unchanged in the latest meeting.
Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), and Eicher Motors emerged as the top gainers, while Tata Consumer Products, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and IndusInd Bank were the biggest losers of the session.
The key indices in the domestic market -- BSE Sensex went down 927 points and settled at 59,744.98 level while NSE Nifty lost 280 points and closed the session at 17,546.55 level.
