The Samajwadi Party has expelled three of its rebel MLAs from the party on Monday who have voted in support of the BJP candidate during the Rajya Sabha elections.
In February, seven SP legislators voted for the BJP nominees in the Rayja Sabha poll. Rakesh Pratap Singh, one of the seven SP MLAs, voted for the BJP in the Rajya Sabha polls. He is an MLA from Gauriganj assembly seat in Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.
Amid speculation of cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha election, Samajwadi Party MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh said that he is not angry with his party and that he will listen to the voice of his inner soul before casting his vote.
SP leader met Champat Rai today and told ANI that he has written a letter to the Assembly Speaker to take those MLAs to the Pran Pratishtha programme on January 22 who have faith in Lord Ram.
The matter pertains to the comments made by the AIMIM chief, on various news channels on the Supreme Court judgement on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case.
