Following incessant rain in Delhi, residents of many parts of the city have shifted to safer locations due to a rise in the water level of the Yamuna River.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta claimed that there was no waterlogging in the national capital following heavy rain in Delhi-NCR from Wednesday night.
For Delhi the weather department in an observation at 2:15 pm said, "Radar observations suggest Light to moderate/hailstorm/Thunderstorm /lightning Accompanied with Gusting wind (50-60 kmph reaching Upto 80). The condition will be it said be valid till 4. 15 pm today.
He further stated that while there was a possibility of rain in Delhi today, forecasts by IMD predicted thunderstorm activity and gusty winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
As Delhi revels in Holi celebrations, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain and thunderstorms across most parts of the city.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) Scientist Dr Naresh Kumar predicted that there is a possibility of rainfall in Punjab, Haryana, Western UP, Delhi NCR, North Rajasthan on January 22 and 23.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature in the national capital has been recorded at 10 degrees Celsius with cloudy sky and light rain or drizzle.
