The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned by two weeks plea relating to delay in deciding the mercy petition of death-row prisoner Balwant Singh Rajoana, who was awarded a death sentence for the assassination of the then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in 1995.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to grant relief to Balwant Singh Rajoana, awarded the death sentence for the assassination of the then Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh in 1995, and asked the Centre to take a call at an appropriate time on his mercy petition.
New Delhi [India], Dec 3 (ANI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday said in Lok Sabha that death sentence of Balwant Singh Rajoana, a convict in the assassination case of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, has not been commuted.
