Border Security Forces (BSF) on Monday recovered suspected 560 grams of heroin in a plastic container in Ratankhurd village of Amritsar district in Punjab, officials said.
The narcotics packets were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and an improvised copper wire loop was also found attached to the consignment, confirming to be dropped from drone, said a press release from the BSF.
Five packets of suspected heroin weighing over 2.8 kg along with a motorcycle were seized by the Border Security Force and Punjab Police, near Dal village in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Friday.
The packets were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape secured with black tape, and each packet also had an improvised iron ring and two illuminating sticks attached.
As the nation celebrates 'Raksha Bandhan', Border Security Force (BSF) jawans posted at the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab's Amritsar, celebrated the festival with women and children on Monday.
"During the search at about 6.15 am in the early hours, the troops successfully recovered 1 packet (gross weight: 570 grams) of suspected heroin from a farming field in village Kilche of district Ferozepur," it said.
Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a narcotic substance suspected to be heroin from a farming field in Gurdaspur on Saturday morning, BSF said in a press release.
