Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday criticised the Uttar Pradesh government for the steep decline in school enrolment and for its approach towards private madrasas, calling it "serious, worrying, and unfair."
All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA and party General Secretary Rafiqul Islam said that the Assam government can't shut down private Madrasas in the state.
After cracking down Jihadi activities in a few private madrasas and busting several Al-Qaeda and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) modules in many parts of the state, the Assam government has taken initiatives to educational reforms in the private Madrasas of the state.
In his statement to ANI, Barbhuiya said, "Survey of private madrasas will be completed within 6 months. Those that don't have students are being amalgamated. We're focusing on the infrastructure of madrasas".
The Madrasas will have to submit all information, including the location of the institution, teachers' details etc to the Secondary Education department of the state government by December 1 via the organizations under which they operate.
