Shortly after being released from custody in the Master Plan case by a Lahore court, the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pervaiz Elahi, was re-arrested in a terrorism case on Sunday, ARY News reported.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, was arrested shortly after being released from prison on Tuesday, Pakistan-based Express Tribune reported.
Former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi has challenged his arrest under MPO in Islamabad High Court. He pleaded with the court to strike down his arrest under MPO and order his immediate release.
It may be noted that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was released on the Lahore High Court's instructions and then promptly detained again by Islamabad police under 3-MPO.
Elahi's action comes after the Lahore Deputy Commissioner issued a 30-day detention order for Elahi under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).
As per details, Pervaiz Elahi's wife said that doctors told her over the phone that his health has deteriorated and he was shifted to jail before the completion of his medical tests.
