In a tragic incident in Pakistan's Attock two lawyers were shot dead on Saturday when an assistant sub-inspector(ASI) officer from the elite forces, driven by a personal vendetta, resorted to gunfire.
According to a statement from the police spokesperson, ASI Intizar Shah of Elite Force Attock opened fire on Advocate Malik Israr reportedly over a longstanding dispute, resulting in the deaths of Advocate Malik Israr and his colleague Advocate Zulfiqar Shah.
Following visits to the incident site on May 25 and May 26, HRFP's investigations revealed that the attack was rooted in a personal grudge by Muslim street fellows rather than actual blasphemy.
