Taliban-led Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said that these migrants, including women and children, were held at the "Haji Camp" prison in Pakistan for two to five months.
According to Afghan officials, Pakistan has handed over 27 Afghan prisoners to the Taliban authorities at the Torkham crossing border, Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, reported Khaama Press.
The Pakistani prisons are one of the most overcrowded ones in the world, according to a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report, prison cells that were designed for a maximum of three people were reportedly holding up to 15 inmates on average.
