Taliban-led Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said that these migrants, including women and children, were held at the "Haji Camp" prison in Pakistan for two to five months.
Many Afghan refugees complained that they are facing difficult situations in Pakistan prisons. They said that they need the Islamic Emirate's help to address their problems and release them from custody, TOLONews reported.
The incident was confirmed by a senior official of the Punjab Prisons Department who said the condition of the woman prisoner, identified as Asma, was stable. He said the prisoner was immediately shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where she underwent a minor surgery.
The overcrowding in jail makes inmates vulnerable to communicable diseases and also they don't have access to medical facilities, according to HRW report.
According to Protocol Officer Arun Pal, prisoner Raju entered Pakistan by mistake, five years ago and the second prisoner Gembra Ram has spent around two and a half years in prison in Pakistan.
