A shocking incident of alleged quadruple murder has come to light in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district, where a man is accused of killing four members of his own family following a dispute over land and jewellery, officials said on Monday.
A 72-year-old man was allegedly shot by his grandsons in Turkman Gate area on Tuesday morning over a long-standing property dispute, police said. The firing incident was reported at Chandni Mahal police station.
According to Sangem police station officials, the victim, identified as Vinoda, suffered 50 per cent burns and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
One person was shot dead in Dwarka's Matiyala area here. As per the local police, there was a property dispute between two brothers, one of whom was murdered.
The Crime branch unit of Pune city police have arrested a 51-year-old man and his wife for allegedly killing and mutilating the body of his sister before disposing it in a river.
"When the team reached the LBS hospital, injured Kajal alleged that around 10 people came to their house and started beating her family members with sticks. The injured also stated that the individuals had covered their faces," said the police.
The prime suspect, his nephew Bashir Azam, was arrested after a manhunt by the police. The weapon used in the crime was also recovered. The deceased was identified as Kabir Azam, a 54-year-old widower. He worked as an auto driver, the police said.
