The forest team launched a drone search operation after the leopard was sighted in the Malkhanpur Dhanecha village in Prayagraj. It sparked panic among the villagers.
Forest officials managed to trap and capture yet another leopard, taking the count to five, near the seventh mile of the Narasimhaswamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Thursday.
This marks the fourth big cat that has been captured since the beginning of ‘Operation Leopard’, which began earlier this month and was initiated after several leopards were sighted on the walkway to the hilltop temple.
"Two days ago, we received information that a wild animal was spotted in the Ajnara Le Garden society. Verification was done but no evidence was found," said District/Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).
