CM Stalin reiterated former CM M Karunanidhi's statement referring to OPS as "Pachai Thamizhar Panneerselvam" (True Tamilian Panneerselvam). He expressed pride that the expelled AIADMK leader joined DMK and lauded him for his positive smile and loyalty.
After inspecting the event venue, O Panneerselvam, who joined DMK just last week ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, said that Chief Minister MK Stalin will grace the induction ceremony.

Tamil Nadu leader R Sarathkumar on Friday asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) remains unaffected by former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam's decision to join the DMK-led camp.
Speaking to ANI, he said, "The original DMK, which is the old DMK, should be very careful. DMK has become almost like a mini retired AIADMK spa or a place where all of the old retired AIADMK people go and join."
With O Panneerselvam joining DMK on Friday, the photo of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was replaced with that of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in his car.
DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin welcomed O. Panneerselvam into the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), calling him a "dear brother" and praising his humility and virtues.
Along with OPS, his son P Ravindhranath Kumar also joined DMK ahead of the forthcoming Tamil Nadu polls. O Panneerselvam was expelled from the party after a leadership tussle with Edappadi K Palaniswami back in 2022.
Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK) General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran said that there is uncertainity betwen DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu and claimed that the opposition is spreading false claims about NDA's stability to distract attention from their own alliance issues.
