The BSE Sensex opened 237.77 points higher at 81,599.63, while the NSE Nifty gained 77.55 points, beginning the session at 24,870.80. This upward momentum came even as concerns over the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict weighed on global market sentiment.
At the opening bell, the Sensex climbed 381.49 points to 75,830.54, while the Nifty gained 118.65 points, opening at 23,026.25. Market sentiment remained positive, with 41 out of 50 Nifty companies recording gains, while only 9 saw declines.
Among Nifty-listed companies, 38 stocks advanced while 12 saw declines. IndusInd Bank, SBI Life, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Motors, and Larsen & Toubro emerged as the top gainers, while Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro, BPCL, and Britannia were among the worst performers in early trade.
The Sensex climbed 445.29 points, or 0.56 per cent, to close at 80,248.08, while the Nifty 50 advanced 142.90 points, or 0.59 per cent, to settle at 24,274.00. The day saw robust buying activity, with 31 of the 50 Nifty-listed stocks recording advances, while 18 ended in the red.
