Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his upcoming visit to Israel, stating that the Prime Minister's visit contradicts the Union Government's position on Palestine, calling it "cynical and hypocritical".
Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, on Monday stated that defence and artificial intelligence (AI) will be the primary focus between India and Israel during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Israel starting February 25.
Azar said that during the Indian Prime Minister's visit the two countries would moved forward and security and defence while forging partnerships in AI, quantum and cyber.
Speaking at the start of the weekly government meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu said the visit would showcase the "special relationship" forged in recent years between Israel and India, as well as his personal rapport with Prime Minister Modi.
In a post on X, he said, "Thank you, my friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu. I fully agree with you on the bond between India and Israel as well as the diverse nature of our bilateral relations."
In a post on X, ahead of Modi's visit to Israel, Netanyahu described the Prime Minister as a "dear friend" and highlighted the growing strategic alignment between the two countries.
