It may be noted that the Governor made this announcement during a ceremonial programme held at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati, where the Governor also distributed food baskets to five TB patients and felicitated five Ni-kshay Mitras and five TB Champions in recognition of their respective roles tow
"The Himachal Pradesh government is extending all possible support to eradicate TB, with around 15,000 TB patients being treated annually in the State. The efforts made by Himachal Pradesh in tackling TB have been recognized at the national level," CM Sukhu remarked.
Prof. Swaminathan was the former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization and has also served as the Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) previously.
The two day Swasthya Chintan Shivir will be organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare.
The objective of this engagement program is to encourage private hospitals to actively contribute to TB screening and assist the state in bridging the gap in TB care services.
