Indian Railways is modernising its infrastructure and services with a strong focus on the needs of common passengers, aiming to make train travel more convenient, comfortable, safe and affordable.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Prime Minister said the Amrit Bharat Express is the country's third modern train after the Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat trains. He added that this "tri-power" of trains would transform the Indian Railways.
National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has successfully completed a scheduled trial run of Namo Bharat trains on the entire Namo Bharat corridor between Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram in Meerut, covering the full 82 km journey in less than an hour.
This initiative is an extension of the Loyalty Points Program, which was introduced recently by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation Ltd. (NCRTC) for tickets purchased via the 'Namo Bharat' App.
The new stretch, part of the 'Namo Bharat' corridor, connects Uttar Pradesh's Sahibabad with Delhi's Ashok Nagar, reducing travel time and improving connectivity for daily commuters.
