About 80 per cent of rural Indian households have consistently reported higher consumption over the last year, NABARD's Rural Economic Conditions and Sentiments Survey (RECSS) found, asserting the survey outcome as a hallmark of rising prosperity.
39.6% of surveyed households reported an increase in income during the past year--the highest share across all six rounds of the survey so far. Notably, Just 3.2% of households reported a decline in consumption, which is the lowest since this survey started.
A recent survey by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has revealed that average monthly income of rural household grew by 57.6 per cent in 5 years.
