A part of a cement metro pillar collapsed during the construction and fell on an auto-rickshaw near the Johnson & Johnson Company in Mulund, Maharashtra, on Saturday at 12:20 pm, likely injuring at least four people, the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) reported.
Multiple fire brigade vehicles were rushed to the spot late Wednesday night, and the blaze was brought under control after sustained firefighting efforts.
Three fire tenders immediately reached the spot soon after receiving the information. The firefighting teams are working to extinguish the blaze and bring the situation under control.
Dinesh, father of the warehouse owner, said, "This godown was here for 1-1.5 years. There must be a minimum loss of Rs 5 to 7 lakhs. We have no idea how the fire broke out. The fire brigade worked very quickly."
According to authorities, multiple fire tenders were deployed to contain the blaze, which triggered thick plumes of smoke visible from adjoining localities.
