Communist Party of India (CPI) Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam on Tuesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing dissatisfaction over the length of the recently announced Monsoon session of Parliament.
"The President has summoned the Rajya Sabha to meet on Thursday, 20th July 2023 and to conclude on Friday, 11th August 2023," the Upper House Secretariat said.
The Congress is all set to corner the Central Government on various pressing issues faced in the country including the Manipur violence, rising inflation, unemployment, and the assault on the federal structure of the country the way Governors of different states conducted themselves.

The Central government on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that the government will table the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill in the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament in July.
That will lead to a major series of reforms, in terms of spectrum, licenses and regulation. There will be a significant reform because of the Telecom Bill," the minister said.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is likely to present the Union Budget in Parliament on February 1 and the first part of the session is expected to continue till February 10.
The exercise to bring in Telecom Bill and Digital Data Protection Bill is in a "very advanced stage" and is likely to be tabled in Parliament during the next Monsoon Session, said the Union minister of communications and electronics, and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Delivering his remarks in Rajya Sabha on the 'Latest Developments in India's Foreign Policy', Jaishankar said India's diplomacy continued apace since the last monsoon session when he last delivered the update on Indian foreign policy.
