The air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the 'poor' category on Tuesday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 259 around 8 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The deteriorating air quality of Delhi witnessed a significant improvement after the winter rain showered the capital city, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 151, in the "moderate" category at 7 am on Sunday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The overall air quality in Mumbai continues to remain in the 'Moderate' category with the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Sunday morning recorded at 139, as per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR)-India.
As per the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, "The number of 'Good to Moderate' Air Quality Days for the first half-year period was 30 in the year 2016, 57 in 2017, 65 in 2018, 78 in 2019, 126 in 2020, 84 in 2021, 54 in 2022, and 101 in the current year 2023."
