Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday condemned Congress MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah's statement supporting his father and CM Siddaramiah to continue as the Chief Minister, saying such statements cause "damage" to the party.
"The Chief Minister will respond to him," Shivakumar said on Thursday while speaking to reporters at the Circuit House and Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi, where the winter session of the state legislature is underway.
Speaking to reporters in Belagavi, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, the son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, emphasised that there is no ambiguity within the party regarding its leadership.
Congress MLC and son of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, on Thursday backed his father for the CM post, saying that he is not aware of any "power sharing agreement" between Siddaramaiah and state Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
The debate over the post of Chief Minister was again ignited by MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, son of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who indicated Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi as Siddaramaiah's successor.
There has been no discussion about the change of Chief Minister in Karnataka, and Siddaramaiah will complete five years in the Chief Minister's post, MLC, and the Chief Minister's son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, said in Tumkur on Saturday.
