Coup leaders in Niger have accused French forces of violating the prohibition on using its airspace to 'destabilise' the West African nation, as France promptly rejected the allegations, an Al Jazeera report said.
At a press conference, a representative of the German foreign ministry said that all direct assistance payments to the Nigerian central government will be halted until further notice.
France in a statement called for the “immediate return to the Nigerien constitutional order” adding to the mounting international pressure on the coup plotters.
