After a magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck northern Japan on Monday, officials have issued an alert for a potential megaquake in northern Japan as per a report by NHK Japan.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Friday canceled his planned four-day trip to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Mongolia, Kyodo reported stating that the step was taken a day after and advisory by the Japan Meteorological Agency.
