Union Minister and the BJP's election in-charge for Tamil Nadu, Piyush Goyal, on Friday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "mega rally" in Madurantakam, saying that the public meeting garnered a massive crowd.
Addressing a NDA rally in Madurantakam in Tamil Nadu's Chengalpattu district, PM Modi said that former Chief Minister J Jayalalitha worked to control crime in the state, and the NDA government will ensure women's safety.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hit out at the ruling DMK-led alliance in the poll-bound Tamil Nadu, saying the countdown for its exit has begun and a BJP-NDA government will be formed in the state.
Prime Minister Modi will deliver a special address, and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, GK Vasan, John Pandian, and other leaders of alliance parties will also attend the event.
Addressing reporters at the BJP state headquarters, Kamalalayam in T Nagar, Nagendran said the Prime Minister will address a public meeting in the afternoon, marking the first campaign rally of the NDA with a call to "send the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) back home."
The preparations are underway for a major public meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Madurantakam in Chengalpattu district on January 23.
