According to Focus Taiwan, China announced on Sunday the opening of the northwest-to-southeast W121 route, linking Dongshan in Zhejiang Province to the M503 flight path in the Taiwan Strait.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on Friday (April 19) announced that it will activate its connecting routes on the controversial M503 flight path that nears Taiwan's restricted airspace.
State Department spokesperson said the U.S. urged Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against Taiwan and instead engage in "meaningful dialogue" with Taiwan.
Wang Kwo-tsai, who heads the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, made the statement after China's Civil Aviation Administration announced flight path adjustments on Tuesday.
