The low-pressure areas over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal have moved west-northwestwards, increasing the depression in the region, the India Meteorological Department said on Tuesday.
Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre said on Thursday that rainfall over certain regions of Tamil Nadu is likely to continue for the week, and saying that there are "well marked low pressure areas" over the Arabian sea and cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.
