United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization reported that the floods in the Jurm and Baharak districts in Badakhshan province have inflicted significant financial damage on local farmers and herders.
Additionally, around 2050 camps organised by Village level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) across 21 States and UTs, joined virtually, according to a statement from the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
Lamenting over the challenges faced by Livestock farmers on a daily basis in the province, they said that the lack of fodder is not the only problem; the occurrence of various animal diseases has also had a bad effect on livestock farming and has reduced their income.
According to an official statement from the Department of Fisheries and Animal resource, the livestock farmers of the state would get their cattle vaccinated against Lumpy Skin Disease without any charges.
