Congress leader Pawan Khera on Friday said that the Centre must act tough against the move made by Nepal over issuing a new banknote for the NPR 100, featuring an updated map that includes the disputed territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani.

India's position is that the Kalapani region, including Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura, is part of its territory. This claim is based on India's interpretation of the Sugauli Treaty of 1816, which defined the border with Nepal based on the Kali River.
On Tuesday, India and China agreed to reopen border trade through the three designated passes, Lipulekh (Uttarakhand), Shipki La Pass (Himachal Pradesh) and Nathu La in Sikkim. Both countries also resumed direct flight connectivity.
