A suicide blast and gunfire targeted the Federal Constabulary headquarters in Peshawar on Monday, Dawn reported. Police confirmed the attack and said the area was being secured. The incident comes amid rising militant violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
At least 92 per cent of all fatalities and 86 per cent of the attacks in Pakistan, including those related to terrorism and security forces operations, were recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces in the first quarter of 2024, reported Geo News.
Over 100 persons were convicted and sentenced to death by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa courts in 2022 and the total of prisoners with death sentences has crossed 450 including women, reported Pak vernacular media Aeen.
