Hospitals across Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are facing immense pressure due to a sharp rise in seasonal influenza cases, with paediatric and chest wards operating beyond capacity, health officials said, The Express Tribune reported.
Once again, the State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) in Pakistan suspended free treatment in hospitals under the Sehat Card Plus programme attributing the non-payment of dues by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's provincial government, reported Dawn.
After the formation of the caretaker government, the health department refused to provide financial resources due to which doctors and other staff could not be paid.
