A journalist from Balochistan's Barkhan district, Asif Kareem Khetran, has reportedly been forcibly disappeared, raising serious concerns over press freedom and human rights in the region.
Sardar Khetran, who was arrested on charges of murdering three people, including a woman, and abducting six people in Barkhan, was released from Central Jail in Quetta on bail after paying surety bonds of PKR 500,000 in each case. Khetran's bail application was approved by the Rakhni session
Khan Muhammad Marri had accused the Balochistan Communication and Works Minister, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran of killing his three family members, including his wife and two sons.
Police took Khetran in custody as he was accused of murdering those three people, Spokesperson said as the protesters continued their sit-in for the second consecutive day in Quetta demanding justice.
As per the police, the police searched all parts of the house including the guest room. The police spokesperson also said that the roads leading to Khetran's house in Quetta's Patel Bagh had been sealed, adding that the raid was carried out to recover Khan Muhammad Marri's five children.
