Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Wednesday said that the Backward Class Commission has already submitted its report to the cabinet, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has advised the ministers to study it and come back in the next meeting with suggestions.
Channasiddarama Panditaradhya Shivacharya Swami of Srisailam Peetha on Monday called the Karnataka Caste Census Report, 'unscientific', 'not appropriate' and said that it has been prepared with a prejudiced mindset.
The Chairman of the Commission for Backward Classes, Jayaprakash Hegde, has announced that he will submit the socio-economic and education survey report, commonly known as the caste census report, to the state government on Thursday.
"I have not opposed anywhere...We want a proper caste census to be done in a very systematic way including my own house," Shivakumar told reporters here.
"Talent is not confined to caste and religion. If the opportunity and advantages of education are given to everyone, talent will come out for sure. Therefore, education is very important to live as good citizens with self-respect," Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.
