The Delhi High Court on Wednesday released 17 bail matters, including actor Leena Maria Paul's bail, in a money laundering and extortion case after the transfer of Justice Arun Monga. The bail pleas were scheduled for clarification before the pronouncement of judgment.
On July 23, the Rouse Avenue court, while granting anticipatory bail to Patel had noted that the allegations of bribery were not supported by cogent material against the accused. Justice Arun Monga issued notice to the CBI and sought response from the agency.
The Central government, through the Ministry of Law and Justice, on Monday approved the transfer of five judges to the Delhi High Court. Acting on the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium, the Ministry issued formal notifications for their appointments.
