Noriaki Abe, Political Affairs Minister at the Embassy of Japan, on Saturday reaffirmed Japan's commitment to its strategic partnership with India while visiting Assam.
The interaction began with a warm traditional Assamese welcome extended by Kishore Upadhyay, Chief Spokesperson of the Assam BJP. He felicitated Abe with an Assamese Jaapi, Gamosa, and Cheleng, symbols of Assamese honour and hospitality.
Addressing a special MEA press briefing in Tokyo, Misri said, "At this point in time, our discussion with Japan was about our bilateral issues. We were not discussing issues between either one of us in any third country. Naturally, what is happening in the rest of the world is discussed.
"I warmly welcome Prime Minister Modi's visit to Japan. I look forward to discussing the strengthening of Japan-India relations in various fields with the Prime Minister," he said in a post on X.
