The Delhi Prisons Department on Thursday issued a formal clarification regarding the health condition of jailed Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah, dismissing rumours about his deteriorating health as unfounded.
Continuing its crackdown against banned separatist organisations, Kupwara Police on Tuesday conducted multiple raids across the district, targeting individuals associated with proscribed outfits such as Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Muslim League, and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party.
The matter was conducted by Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati and Advocate Rajat Nair for Ministry of Home Affairs. The confirmation order of the tribunal would be now be notified by the Government in couple of days
The Centre has constituted a tribunal under Delhi High Court judge Sachin Datta to adjudicate if there is sufficient ground for declaring the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) as an unlawful association.
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) made the declaration through a notification announcing the JKDFP as an 'Unlawful Association' under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967.
