Tragedy struck in southern Gaza's Rafah this morning as eight Israeli soldiers lost their lives in a devastating blast, marking the deadliest incident for the IDF in the Strip since January.
Israel Defence Forces commander Major Omri and Sergeant Major Tal recalled the day of October 7, when the Hamas terror group attacked Southern Israel, killing hundreds of civilians and taking many hostages.
The target was monitored by the IDF's aerial defense unit and it did not cross towards the territory of the country. As such, No alerts were activated in accordance with policy, there were no casualties and no damage was caused.

Elsewhere in Rafah, soldiers identified and eliminated six armed terrorists near a school close to where troops were operating. The squad was eliminated by drone and tank fire.
