The Indian Navy is acquiring 26 Rafale Marine aircraft to enhance the capabilities of the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya. The acquisition was in the final stages of being cleared by the cabinet committee on security.
The Ministry of Defence signed a contract with Cochin Shipyard Limited on Saturday for Short Refit and Dry Docking (SRDD) of INS Vikramaditya at an overall cost of Rs. 1207.5 Cr, according to an official press release from the Ministry of Defence.
