Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today met the families of the victims who died due to consumption of contaminated drinking water in Indore and also those who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
"Why did this injustice happen? What was their fault? It was the fault of the system, the local administration, and the municipal corporation. I believe this is a crime, and the government is shirking its responsibility...," Singhar said.
Speaking to ANI, Lashkari said, "We had been complaining about dirty water for many days, but no one was listening. My daughter Kanak Lashkari is 15 years old and is admitted to the hospital. My mother is 93 years old. She fell ill on the 24th. She has been treated and is now fine."
The issue of deaths allegedly caused by consumption of contaminated water in Bhopal and Indore has intensified, with the Congress launching a sharp attack on the state government, accusing it of gross negligence and administrative failure.
