Kanyakumari Lok Sabha MP Vijay Vasanth met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and submitted a letter seeking urgent intervention for the safety and repatriation of Indian fishermen stranded in Iran.
The Indian Coast Guard on Thursday shared that the safe repatriation of 23 Indian fishermen and 2 fishing boats and the handing over of 128 Bangladeshi fishermen with 5 fishing boats to Bvangladesh Coast Guard was facilitated.
The fishermen went fishing in a boat with the registration number IND-TN-11-MM-96 belonging to A Joseph, a member of Mandapam, from the northern coast of Mandapam on Saturday.
