Chilean envoy in India, Juan Angulo, is hopeful that the next round of talks with India for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) would be the final round and may end up in the finalisation of the trade pact.
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met Chile's Treasury Undersecretary Claudia Sanhueza to review progress on the India-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The meeting followed the fourth round of CEPA talks, which concluded on December 5.
In an interview with ANI, Chile Ambassador to India Juan Angulo said the two countries have common values and principles and common interests for the future, and there is great scope when it comes to trade.
The first round of negotiations commenced on May 26, 2025, with the Opening Ceremony inaugurated by Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal in the presence of the Ambassador of Chile to India, HE Juan Angulo.
