Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Mita Madhusmita was addressing a press conference on the 'Issue of Suspicious Refunds' being claimed by certain Taxpayers'.
The Division bench of Justice Satish Chander Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad on Tuesday reserved the order in the matter after noting down the submissions of petitioner and repondents. The RBI has opposed the plea stating that Rs 2000 note continues to be legal tender.
The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed the batch of petitions including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi memorial trust and various other's plea challenging Income Tax authority's decision to transfer tax assessments from faceless assessment to its Central circle.
The complainant had alleged that his firm is engaged in the manufacturing of electric switches in Maharashtra, however, income tax assessment of the said firm was being done at the office of income tax at Mandsaur (MP).
